Mississippi pot roast tonight. My new favorite way to make pot roast!
Season and lightly flour the meat (chuck roast)
Sear until it gets a good crust on the outside..
I then set my meat on a bed of sliced up onion and add potatoes,carrots and mushrooms around the meat.
The recipe calls for 5 pickled peppercini peppers. I use more cause we like them,and half a jar of the pepper juice. Place those on TOP of the meat.
Next add 1 packet Au jus gravy mix.
1 packet ranch dressing powder on top of the meat.
And 1 WHOLE stick of butter placed on TOP of the meat so it melts into the meat while cooking. Don't need to add any other liquid.
Slow cook 6-8 hrs. Seriously the best pot roast I've had in a while.
